The past decade has seen a growing recognition of the importance of youth participation in decision-making. Greater involvement of youth in the home, school, and community not only benefits their socio-economic environment but also builds their own capacity and contributes to their personal growth. Many youths devote their time to volunteering, educating their peers, and making a difference in their societies.

Education, Employment, Poverty and Hunger, the environment, drug abuse, juvenile delinquency, leisure-time activities, health, girls and young women, HIV/AIDS, information and communications technology, inter-generational issues, the mixed impact of globalization, and the full and effective participation of youth in society and in decision-making are the some of the areas where Youth are actively involved.
